The Schneedorf...

Overnight stays in igloos at 2000 metres above sea level in Ötztal. 
 

What looks like huge mounds of snow with a few protruding peaks from the outside turns out to be a marvellous world of ice and snow on the inside. This extraordinary structure is made entirely of snow and ice and is rebuilt every year. Snow sculptors create fascinating works of art on the walls and ceilings of the igloos.

We offer four 4-6 person igloos for the classic igloo overnight stay and twelve 2-person igloos for the candlelight night.
 

Facilities:
There is a warm-up room, a snow bar and heated toilets. The main igloo can accommodate up to 50 people. 
Dinner (cheese fondue or alternatives on pre-order) is served at six large tables in a convivial atmosphere.

Location / Arrival:
The Schneedorf is located in the centre of the Hochoetz-Ochsengarten ski region www.hochoetz.at in the front Ötztal/Tyrol. Thanks to the good transport connections (approx. 7 kilometres from the motorway exit into the valley), we are very easy to reach even in snowy weather. From the mountain station of the Acherkogel cable car, it is a 20-minute walk to the snow village, where we organise luggage transport. You will need to be in good physical condition, as there are a few short climbs and we are at an altitude of 2000 metres.

Lage / Anreise:
Das Schneedorf liegt mitten in der Skiregion Hochoetz-Ochsengarten www.hochoetz.at im vorderen Ötztal/Tirol. Durch die gute Verkehrsanbindung (ca. 7 Kilometer von der Autobahnausfahrt Tal einwärts) sind wir auch bei Schneefall sehr gut erreichbar. Von der Bergstation der Acherkogelbahn gelangen wir gemeinsam in einem ca. 20-minütigen Spaziergang zum Schneedorf, wobei der Gepäcktransport von uns organisiert wird. Körperliche Gesundheit ist dafür notwendig, denn ein paar kleine Anstiege sind dabei und wir befinden uns auf 2000 Metern Höhe.

Skiers can make a stop at the snow village directly from the piste and enjoy a drink or two at the snow bar, explore the snow village on a tour or even try out the show igloo.
